Our successes

From the Quebec scene to the Olympic Games

Our women’s artistic gymnastics club stands out on the Quebec, Canadian, Pan-American, international scenes, and even at the Olympic Games!

Some backstory

Founded in 1973, Club Gymnix has set itself the mission of gymnastic excellence through its participation in major international events and the achievement of its ultimate goal: the Olympic Games. From the very beginning, Club Gymnix gymnasts have distinguished themselves through the quality of their execution and their performances on the Quebec and Canadian scene. In 1975, Ginette Dufresne won the Gymnix Club’s first international medal.

This excellent performance in such a short time set the tone for the following years, where the quest for Olympic participation became the club’s main objective. In 1980, Carmen Alie was deprived of participation following the boycott of the Moscow Olympic Games. Eight years later, in 1988, Cathy Giancaspro became the first Gymnix to participate in the Olympic Games.
